SEATTLE – Ahmad Henderson II was instrumental in UIC’s 79-68 win over Seattle U on Friday evening, finishing the game with 14 points.
Alongside his points, Henderson showcased his all-around skills by grabbing five rebounds, dishing out nine assists, and recording four steals for the Flames, who improved their record to 8-4.
Modestas Kancleris also made a significant contribution, scoring 12 points with an impressive shooting night, going 3 of 5 from the field and 6 for 6 from the charity stripe, while pulling down seven rebounds.
Javon Jackson matched Kancleris with 12 points, also showcasing efficiency with a shooting line of 3 of 6 from the floor and 5 for 6 from the free-throw line.
The Redhawks, who fell to 4-8 with this defeat, were led by Brayden Maldonado, who netted 22 points and recorded three steals.
John Christofilis supported his team by contributing 11 points, while Maleek Arington added a well-rounded performance with 10 points, five assists, three steals, and two blocks.
UIC took control late in the first half, establishing a lead with just 40 seconds remaining and went into the break ahead 34-32, spurred by Jackson’s seven points in the half.
The Flames continued to build on their success in the second half, outpacing Seattle U by nine points after halftime.
Henderson led UIC’s scoring effort in the latter half with nine points, helping to secure the victory.
Looking ahead, UIC will face Illinois State on the road this Sunday, while Seattle U is scheduled to take on Washington on Monday.
