KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Freshman Justus McNair delivered a stunning shot from midcourt just as the final buzzer sounded, sealing a remarkable comeback for Valparaiso against Western Michigan with a final score of 76-73 on Friday.

Valpo found themselves down 69-47 with just over six minutes left in the game, but they rallied with an impressive 29-4 run to take the lead.

With the score tied at 73-73, Donovan Williams of Western Michigan had a chance to give his team the win but fell short on a corner 3-pointer. McNair snagged the rebound with approximately four seconds remaining and quickly moved down the court, executing a one-footed shot just before the horn sounded.

Cooper Schwieger was a standout performer for the Beacons, contributing 17 of his total 19 points in the second half. Jefferson Monegro posted 13 points despite struggling with his shooting, hitting just 4 of 15 attempts overall and going 0 for 3 from beyond the arc, while making 5 of 9 free throws. McNair also had a strong outing, finishing with 13 points and shooting 5 of 7 from the field, including 2 for 4 from three-point range.

For the Broncos, Chansey Willis Jr. led the way with 16 points, along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Owen Lobsinger supported the team with 14 points, while Brandon Muntu added 12 points to the scoreboard.

Monegro managed to net eight points in the first half, but Valparaiso went into the halftime break trailing by a substantial margin of 42-26.
