NEW YORK – Starting January 1, Uzma Rawn Dowler will take on the role of chief marketing officer for Major League Baseball (MLB).
At 39 years old, Rawn will report directly to Noah Garden, who serves as the deputy commissioner of business and media, as announced by MLB on Thursday.
Rawn’s journey with MLB began in 2015 when she joined as senior director of sponsorship sales. She advanced to the position of vice president of sponsorship sales in 2018 and was promoted to senior vice president of global corporate partnerships in 2021.
In her new position, she will continue to manage the global corporate partnerships team under the guidance of Bill Morningstar, the executive vice president of sponsorship sales and president of the MLB Network.
Rawn holds a degree from Ithaca College and has an extensive background in sports marketing, having served as the NBA’s coordinator for team marketing and business operations from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, she was associated with Premier Partnerships from 2011 to 2015.
