NEW YORK — The NHL has officially kicked off production for the second installment of its all-access behind-the-scenes documentary series, following the success of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive.”
On Thursday, the league announced that the upcoming season of “Faceoff: Inside the NHL” will feature Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk as the first confirmed player. Tkachuk has previously appeared in the show’s inaugural season alongside members of his family.
The first season, produced by Box To Box and NHL Productions, consisted of six episodes chronicling the 2024 playoffs. Notable figures showcased included Connor McDavid, captain of the Edmonton Oilers, as well as Matthew Tkachuk, Brady’s brother and a Stanley Cup-winning forward for the Florida Panthers. This season made its debut on Amazon Prime Video in October.
Steve Mayer, the NHL’s president of content and events, expressed excitement about the upcoming season. “With more exclusive footage than ever before, we’re offering fans an even more intimate look into the lives of our players and their families. We are eager to embark on this journey again,” he shared. He also hinted at a wide range of emotions throughout the series, stating, “From intense drama to moments that will make you laugh and cry, this next season is poised to surpass the last.”
