MUNICH — Bayern Munich could see the return of Harry Kane just in time for their Bundesliga match against Leipzig on Friday.

The team’s coach, Vincent Kompany, announced on Thursday that Kane has resumed training after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained during a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on November 30.

Kompany refrained from confirming whether Kane would start the match, emphasizing that the final training session remains crucial for determining his participation. “If everything goes well, he’ll definitely play a role tomorrow,” he stated.

In addition to Kane, defender Alphonso Davies is also back in training, while Serge Gnabry is working toward a comeback from his knee injury.

Kane’s absence was keenly felt, as Bayern recently experienced a setback by being eliminated from the German Cup by Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning champions. They also faced their first loss in the Bundesliga this season against Mainz last weekend.

Kompany highlighted the significance of Kane’s presence, noting, “We’ve already established that we can’t find a direct replacement for Harry. He possesses an extraordinary instinct for positioning himself in the box, which makes a significant impact.” He further remarked on Kane’s contributions to the team’s defensive plays, praising him as one of the best in the world when it comes to maximizing scoring opportunities in the box.

Since joining Bayern, Kane has found the net 20 times in 19 appearances across all competitions, showcasing his impressive abilities and importance to the squad.
