Robinson and Pettus lead with 19 points each as Northern Kentucky defeats Detroit Mercy 73-60

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — In an impressive showing on Wednesday night, the Northern Kentucky Norse triumphed over Detroit Mercy with a final score of 73-60. Leading the charge for Northern Kentucky were Trey Robinson and Randall Pettus II, each contributing 19 points to secure the victory.

Robinson, in addition to his scoring, claimed five rebounds for the Norse, who now hold a record of 6-6 overall and are 2-0 in Horizon League play. Pettus II displayed an efficient shooting performance, making 6 of his 10 attempts from the field, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc, and converting on 5 out of 8 free throws. Additionally, Keeyan Itejere added a solid performance with 13 points, hitting 6 of 10 from the field and making 1 of 3 from the charity stripe.

For the Titans, which now sit at 5-8 overall and 1-2 in the conference, Orlando Lovejoy was a standout player, scoring 16 points while also racking up four assists and four steals. He was supported by Grant Gondrezick II, who added 12 points along with four assists and two steals, and Nate Johnson contributed 11 points to the effort.

Looking ahead, Northern Kentucky will be gearing up for their next contest on Saturday, where they will host South Carolina State. Meanwhile, Detroit Mercy will be traveling to Wisconsin for their upcoming matchup on Sunday.
