SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In an impressive performance, South Carolina State emerged victorious over South Carolina Upstate with a score of 85-70 on Wednesday night.
Drayton Jones was a key contributor for the Bulldogs, scoring 14 points, shooting 3 for 6 from the field, and making 8 out of 12 free throw attempts.
In addition to Jones, his teammates also stepped up, with Omar Croskey, Mitchel Taylor, Davion Everett, and bench player Wilson Dubinsky each contributing 11 points to the team’s total.
On the other side, the Spartans struggled to keep pace, with Carmelo Adkins leading the scoring for South Carolina Upstate with 21 points.
Mister Dean also had a strong game, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds, but it was not enough to overcome the Bulldogs.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again this Saturday. South Carolina State will travel to Northern Kentucky, while South Carolina Upstate will be at home against Youngstown State.
