MONACO — In a recent clash during a French league match against Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma suffered a significant injury to his face. The incident occurred in the 17th minute at Stade Louis II, where the Italian goalkeeper was inadvertently struck by the cleat of opponent Wilfried Singo.

Singo had his shot blocked when he attempted to leap over the sliding Donnarumma. Unfortunately, he miscalculated and instead made contact with Donnarumma’s face. Following the collision, images captured the bloodied state of the goalkeeper, showing a noticeable cut beneath his right eye. Despite being previously cautioned for a foul, Singo narrowly escaped being shown a red card for the incident.

After the collision, Donnarumma remained on the ground as medical staff tended to him. Eventually, he managed to rise to his feet, but it was determined that he could no longer continue in the match. Consequently, he was substituted off the pitch and Matvey Safonov took over as the goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain.
