RJ Luis made a significant impact off the bench, scoring 19 points and contributing to St. John’s comprehensive 89-61 triumph over DePaul on Tuesday evening.

In addition to his scoring prowess, Luis also secured five rebounds for the Red Storm, who now hold a record of 9-2 overall and 1-0 in the Big East Conference. Kadary Richmond supported the effort with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Simeon Wilcher showcased his shooting skills, finishing with 16 points on a stellar 7-for-9 shooting night, including two baskets from three-point range, along with three steals.

For DePaul, Layden Blocker was the standout performer, tallying 17 points, while Conor Enright contributed 12 points to the Blue Demons’ total. DePaul’s record currently stands at 8-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The Red Storm established a firm grip on the game, leading by a score of 40-29 at halftime, with Luis scoring 14 of those points before the break. In the second half, St. John’s surged ahead with an impressive 17-2 run, turning a 13-point advantage into a commanding 28-point lead. Richmond paced the team during this burst, scoring a team-high 12 points in the latter half.
