DALLAS — Yimi García is set to make his return to the Toronto Blue Jays after coming to terms on a two-year deal worth $15 million, as disclosed by a source familiar with the negotiations.

At 34 years old, García found himself traded from Toronto to the Seattle Mariners on July 26, in exchange for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher/outfielder Jacob Sharp. During his tenure with the Mariners, he recorded a 6.00 ERA across nine innings in ten games.
In total, this past season saw him achieve a record of 3-0, with a 3.46 ERA and accumulating five saves throughout 39 appearances, totaling 39 innings pitched.
Over his decade-long career, García boasts a record of 22 wins and 29 losses, along with a 3.59 ERA and 26 saves. His career has spanned several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2014 to 2019, the Miami Marlins during 2020-2021, a brief stint with the Houston Astros in 2021, and Toronto, where he played in 2022 and will now return for 2024. Notably, he also missed the entire 2017 season due to recovery from Tommy John surgery.
