MILAN — Christian Pulisic, the American midfielder, has suffered a torn muscle in his right calf, as confirmed by AC Milan on Monday following an MRI assessment. This injury could potentially keep him sidelined until January.

The incident occurred during the first half of AC Milan’s recent 2-1 defeat to Atalanta on Friday, raising concerns about his recovery timeline. The club has indicated that Pulisic will undergo another MRI in about a week to assess the extent of the injury and monitor his healing process.

Throughout the season, Pulisic has been a standout player for AC Milan, contributing significantly with five goals and four assists in Serie A, in addition to scoring three times in the Champions League. His absence will be felt as the team continues to compete both domestically and in European contests.

Looking ahead, the U.S. national team is not scheduled for any official matches until March, when they will face Panama in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Nations League. Should Pulisic’s recovery progress as hoped, he may make his return in time for the Italian Super Cup semifinals against Juventus, slated to take place in Saudi Arabia on January 3.
