ST. LOUIS — On Sunday, the Saint Louis Billikens achieved a convincing victory over the struggling Chicago State Cougars, winning 85-62.
Robbie Avila was a standout performer for Saint Louis, contributing 19 points along with seven rebounds. His offensive efforts were complemented by Gibson Jimerson, who scored 18 points and also secured seven rebounds, while Kalu Anya added another 14 points to the total.
On the other side, the Chicago State Cougars, still searching for their first win of the season with a record of 0-11, saw Noble Crawford lead their scoring with 18 points. Jalen Forrest contributed 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Troy McCoy chipped in with 11 points.
Saint Louis established their dominance early, seizing the lead with 13:38 left in the first half and never relinquishing it. Avila’s scoring burst of 12 points in that half helped propel the Billikens to a 41-33 advantage at halftime.
The match showcased the Billikens’ strength as they continue to build their season record to 6-3, while the Cougars remain in search of their first victory.
