LAWRENCE, Kan. — Coach Lance Leipold announced on Saturday that Jim Zebrowski will take over as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas football team, succeeding Jeff Grimes.
Zebrowski has served as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Jayhawks since his arrival in 2021. His prior experience includes working alongside Leipold at both Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Buffalo.
“Jim and I have collaborated for over a decade, and his understanding of the game and our offensive strategies is exceptional,” Leipold stated. “He has played a vital role in our accomplishments and is poised to continue enhancing our program. He serves as an excellent mentor to our players and welcomes the opportunity to represent the Jayhawks.”
During the 2022-23 seasons, Zebrowski coached quarterbacks Jalon Daniels and Jason Bean. Under his guidance, Kansas achieved back-to-back bowl appearances for only the second time in the program’s history. This season, Daniels made a successful return from an injury, leading the Jayhawks to triumphs against three ranked teams for the first time. Additionally, Kansas recorded over 500 total yards in three separate games and topped the Big 12 in third-down conversion rates.
According to reports from ESPN on Friday, Grimes is expected to assume the role of offensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin.
