AMHERST, Mass. — On Wednesday night, Central Connecticut State picked up a hard-fought 73-69 win over UMass, fueled by a standout performance from Devin Haid, who contributed 18 points to the team’s effort.

Haid’s impressive stats also included seven rebounds, showcasing his all-around play for the Blue Devils, who are now 5-3 on the season. Team-mate Jayden Brown supported the cause with 12 points, completing 5 of 11 shots from the field, including a lone successful three-pointer from his four attempts. He also collected six rebounds to aid the team’s performance. Joe Ostrowsky chipped in 10 points by hitting 4 out of 9 attempts, two of which came from beyond the three-point line.

For the Minutemen, Daniel Rivera stood out with a strong showing, registering a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Rahsool Diggins made notable contributions as well, adding 14 points to UMass’s scoring efforts, and Jaylen Curry finished with 10 points.
