NASSAU, Bahamas — In an exciting matchup at the Baha Mar Hoops tournament, Rice University secured a close 70-66 victory over Iona on Sunday, highlighted by a standout performance from Trae Broadnax, who contributed 16 points to the Owls’ success.

Broadnax also recorded seven rebounds, helping to bolster his team’s performance. Alongside him, Caden Powell added 14 points, shooting efficiently with 6 of 8 from the field, and matched Broadnax with seven rebounds. Alem Huseinovic rounded out Rice’s key contributions with 10 points, hitting 4 of 6 from the field, including two successful 3-point attempts.

For the Gaels, who fell to a 2-7 record with this loss, James Patterson was the leading scorer. He finished the game with 19 points, complemented by nine rebounds and four steals. Adam Njie also scored 19 points for Iona, while Dejour Reaves contributed 10 points along with two steals.
