Blaise Threatt showcased an impressive performance, scoring 19 points and guiding Weber State to a narrow 73-70 win over Bowling Green during the Arizona Tip-Off held in Tempe, Arizona, on Friday.
With just 28 seconds remaining in the game, Miguel Tomley executed a crucial layup, and Threatt sealed the victory by successfully sinking two free throws shortly after.
In addition to his scoring, Threatt tallied seven rebounds and five steals for the Wildcats, who improved their record to 3-4. Tomley had a solid outing as well, finishing with 16 points by hitting 6 of his 12 attempts from the field, including 4 of 10 from beyond the arc. Dyson Koehler contributed 11 points, shooting 3 for 7 and hitting 4 out of 5 free throws, while also recording seven rebounds and three steals.
On the opposing side, Derrick Butler led the Falcons with 16 points, while Javontae Campbell added 13 points and recorded two steals for Bowling Green. Braelon Green also contributed to the scoreboard with 10 points.
Tomley was impactful in the first half, scoring nine points as Weber State entered halftime trailing by a narrow margin of 43-40. In the second half, Threatt stepped up, leading the team with 10 points and playing a key role in the eventual win.
