Patrick Mahomes surpasses Len Dawson’s record with 238th touchdown pass for the Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes achieved a significant milestone by becoming the all-time leader in passing touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs. This accomplishment came when he connected with Justin Watson for a touchdown in the end zone during the latter part of the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday evening.

This marked Mahomes’ 238th touchdown pass, allowing him to surpass the legendary Len Dawson, a Hall of Famer, for the top spot in franchise history. The touchdown provided Kansas City with a 10-3 advantage and followed an impressive third-down conversion play. The sequence began with a throw to veteran tight end Travis Kelce. As he was getting taken down just short of the first-down line, Kelce managed to toss the ball to Samaje Perine, who caught it and sprinted ahead for the necessary yardage to secure a fresh set of downs.

In the following plays, Kelce was able to make another reception but was brought down at the 8-yard line of the Raiders. He continues to chase his 77th career touchdown catch, which would allow him to surpass the franchise record currently held by Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez in that specific category.
