BURLINGTON, Vt. — In an impressive display, Noah Barnett scored 15 points to lead Vermont to a dominant 78-55 victory over SUNY-Plattsburgh on Wednesday evening.
Barnett showcased his shooting efficiency, hitting 5 of 6 shots from the field and making all 5 of his free throws for the Catamounts, who improved to a 4-4 record. Alongside Barnett, Shy Odom contributed with 12 points, going 5 of 6 from the field and converting 2 of 4 free throws, while also contributing five rebounds.
Ileri Ayo-Faleye made his mark on the game by scoring 11 points. He went 3 of 7 from the floor, made 1 of 4 attempts from beyond the arc, and completed 4 of 5 free throws, in addition to grabbing six boards.
On the other side, the Cardinals were spearheaded by Kevin Tabb, who finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Teammate Kareem Welch also had a solid outing, recording 13 points along with six rebounds and four assists, while contributing two steals on the defensive end. Nate Pondexter Jr. matched Welch’s scoring output, adding another 13 points to the team’s total.
This win marks another step forward for the Catamounts as they continue to search for consistency in their season.
