CANCUN, Mexico — In a commanding display, Belmont triumphed over Tulane with a score of 89-66 on Wednesday evening, propelled by Tyler Lundblade’s impressive contribution of 17 points.
Lundblade had an effective night on the court, shooting 6-for-12 overall and hitting 5-of-10 from three-point territory for the Bruins, who improved their record to 5-2. Aidan Noyes also made a significant impact, scoring 14 points while collecting seven rebounds. Jonathan Pierre added to the scoring efforts, finishing with 13 points and shooting 5-for-9 overall, including 3-for-7 from beyond the arc.
For Tulane, which stands at 4-4, Asher Woods was the standout player, leading the team with 16 points. Mari Jordan chipped in with 13 points and secured six rebounds, while Rowan Brumbaugh also scored 13 points.
Belmont entered halftime with a 45-35 lead, thanks in part to Lundblade’s 12-point effort. The second half saw Belmont explode for a 12-0 run, extending their advantage to as much as 28 points. Noyes shone in the latter part of the game, contributing a team-leading eight points.
Belmont’s defense and offensive execution proved too challenging for Tulane on this occasion, as they continued to build their momentum throughout the game, showcasing their skills on this notable night.
