CLEVELAND — Tariq Francis helped lead NJIT to a 78-69 victory over Morehead State on Wednesday night, contributing a solid 23 points to the team’s performance.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Francis also secured five rebounds for the Highlanders, who improved their record to 1-7 with this win. Sebastian Robinson played a key role as well, finishing with 21 points after shooting 8 of 18 from the field, including a notable 4 for 7 from beyond the arc. Tim Moore Jr. also made a significant impact, scoring 16 points with an impressive shooting line of 4 for 8 overall, which included 3 for 5 from 3-point range, and he was perfect from the free-throw line, hitting all of his attempts.
On the other side, Kenny White Jr. was the standout player for the Eagles, finishing the game with an impressive 34 points, along with seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Kade Ruegsegger supported the team with an additional 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome NJIT’s effort in this matchup.
This performance marks a crucial step for NJIT as they aim to turn around their season, while Morehead State will look to build on White’s individual success to achieve better results in upcoming games.
