NEW YORK — The excitement is building as the iconic helium balloons prepare to take flight in New York City for the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. On Wednesday, the preparation intensified as the gigantic balloons were filled with helium, setting the stage for the much-anticipated event.

“Watching these enormous balloons come to life is truly amazing,” remarked Stephanie Senkevich, part of a dedicated team working diligently on the inflating process for the Thanksgiving spectacle. “At first, they seem small when you’re standing next to them, but gradually you witness them soaring high above, which is simply an incredible sight.”

This year’s parade will showcase 17 colossal character balloons, making their way from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Macy’s renowned flagship store on 34th Street. These will be accompanied by various floats, entertainers, marching bands, and an array of festive features.

Among the attractions are six newly introduced character balloons, including beloved figures like Minnie Mouse, Goku from the “Dragon Ball” series, and a fresh rendition of Spider-Man. Classic favorites will also return, such as Smokey Bear and SpongeBob SquarePants, ensuring a delightful experience for all attendees.
