Celtic’s Carter-Vickers nets own goal with a no-look pass in Champions League match

GLASGOW, Scotland – In a dramatic moment during Wednesday’s Champions League match, Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers found himself in a predicament as he raised his hands in frustration after an unfortunate own goal.

The United States international attempted a casual no-look back pass from approximately 10 yards that he presumed would reach goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

However, Schmeichel was out of position, leaving the ball to roll innocently into the goal’s corner as the experienced Danish keeper rushed towards it, nearly colliding with the goal post in the process.

Carter-Vickers’ miscalculation allowed Club Brugge to take the lead in the 26th minute at Celtic Park, marking a crucial moment in the match.

Despite this setback, Celtic has shown resilience in the Champions League this season, accumulating seven points from their first four matches.
