Hyundai initiates recall of more than 226,000 vehicles due to potential rearview camera malfunctions.

Hyundai has issued a recall impacting over 226,000 of its SUVs and compact cars in the United States due to an issue with the rearview camera displays.
This recall encompasses specific models of the Santa Fe and Elantra produced during the 2021 and 2022 model years.

According to details released by U.S. safety regulators, the problem lies in the solder joints of a printed circuit board that may develop cracks over time.
These cracks can lead to a malfunction in the camera system, which poses a significant risk as it reduces visibility and heightens the potential for accidents involving pedestrians.

To address this issue, Hyundai will provide replacements for the faulty cameras at no charge to the vehicle owners.
Notifications will be sent out via mail beginning on January 19, informing affected customers on how to proceed.
