Brentford has successfully overturned the red card issued to midfielder Christian Norgaard after a recent match against Everton in the Premier League.
The Danish player received a straight red card following a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the game, which took place over the weekend.
Norgaard had attempted to poke the ball into the net from a close distance but inadvertently collided with the knee of Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.
This incident occurred during the 41st minute of the match held at Goodison Park, where Brentford managed to secure a 0-0 draw against their opponent.
As a result of the successful appeal lodged by Brentford, the Football Association announced on Wednesday that Norgaard will no longer face a suspension and will be eligible to participate in the club’s next three matches.
