BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In a thrilling Tuesday night matchup, Samford triumphed over North Dakota State with a 103-98 victory in overtime, fueled by a standout performance from Collin Holloway, who recorded a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
During the critical extra period, Holloway contributed five points, helping the Bulldogs secure an 18-13 advantage over the Bison. The game reached overtime after Hamed Olayinka of Samford made a crucial jumper with just 10 seconds remaining in regulation, resulting in an 85-85 tie and extending the contest.
Trey Fort also shone for Samford, scoring 24 points with an efficient shooting night, hitting 8 of 15 attempts from the field and 3 of 9 from beyond the arc, along with a perfect 5-for-7 performance from the free-throw line. Rylan Jones added further momentum for the Bulldogs, finishing with 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting, including four 3-pointers.
On the other side, Jacari White was the star for North Dakota State, leading his team with an impressive 30 points. Luke Kasubke provided support with 21 points, while Jacksen Moni contributed 12 points, along with seven rebounds and five assists, but it was not enough to secure the win.
