Loyola Maryland edges out VMI with a score of 70-67

BALTIMORE — Milos Ilic played a pivotal role in Loyola (MD)’s narrow 70-67 victory over VMI on Tuesday night, contributing a solid performance with 28 points and 11 rebounds.

The turning point in the game came when Jordan Stiemke hit a crucial three-pointer that put Loyola ahead for good, 66-64, with just 2:14 left on the clock. Stiemke finished the game with 13 points, enhancing the Greyhounds’ offensive efforts.

Tyson Commander also made his mark, recording nine points along with six rebounds for Loyola, which improved to a 3-3 record this season.

On the opposing side, Rickey Bradley Jr. was the standout player for the Keydets (4-4), scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds. His teammate TJ Johnson added 18 points, while Augustinas Kiudulas contributed 11 points and dished out four assists.

Ilic was crucial in the first half, scoring 12 points; however, Loyola went into halftime trailing at 42-30. He stepped up significantly in the second half, bringing in 16 more points to secure the team’s three-point victory.
