The Washington Commanders have placed kicker Austin Seibert on injured reserve as of Tuesday, just two days after a critical miss of an extra point that could have evened the score during the game against the Dallas Cowboys with only 21 seconds remaining.
In addition to the extra point miss, Seibert also failed to convert a field goal attempt and another extra point in the match against Dallas, leading to the team’s challenging loss. Previously, he had been sidelined for two games due to a right hip injury but had asserted post-game that he felt fine and opted to participate.
To fill the vacant position on the roster, the Commanders have signed running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. from their practice squad. This decision was influenced by the injuries to other key players; Austin Ekeler is currently dealing with a concussion while Brian Robinson Jr. suffered a sprained ankle during the recent match.
