ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers have officially completed the composition of manager Bruce Bochy’s coaching team for the 2025 season, announcing the inclusion of bench coach Luis Urueta, who has joined the Rangers after spending the last two years in the same capacity with the Miami Marlins.

On Tuesday, the team also revealed that Dave Bush will take on the role of assistant pitching coach, while Jordan Tiegs has been appointed as the bullpen coach, both having previously been involved with the organization. Earlier this month, the Rangers appointed Justin Viele as their hitting coach after he spent five successful seasons in that role with the San Francisco Giants.

Urueta’s addition comes after the recent hiring of ex-Marlins manager Skip Schumaker as a senior advisor for baseball operations, which further solidified the Rangers’ coaching staff. The team will also see the return of seven other coaching staff members, including pitching coach Mike Maddux, offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker, first base coach Corey Ragsdale, and third base coach Tony Beasley, among others. Notably, Beasley is entering his 11th season with the Rangers, making him the longest-serving coach on the staff.

The departures from Bochy’s staff mainly involve personnel moving to other Major League Baseball teams. Will Venable has accepted the position of manager with the Chicago White Sox after serving as Bochy’s associate manager, and hitting coach Tim Hyers has taken a similar position with the Atlanta Braves.

Urueta brings a wealth of experience, having been part of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ coaching staff from 2018 to 2021, including two years as their bench coach. Bush previously occupied the director of pitching strategy role for the Rangers, integrating both on-field experience and front office engagements, while Tiegs has dedicated the last three seasons to serving as the organization’s pitching coordinator.
