LONDON — A man who is considered a terrorist and has been sought after in the United States for his involvement in two bombings in the San Francisco area was brought before a London judge on Tuesday. His capture marks the end of a lengthy 20-year evasion from law enforcement, according to officials.
Daniel Andreas San Diego, aged 46, had previously secured a spot on the FBI’s most wanted list. He was apprehended on Monday in Wales, as reported by the National Crime Agency.
In the U.S., San Diego faces charges related to two bomb detonations that occurred within an hour of each other on August 28, 2003, at a biotechnology company in Emeryville, California. Additionally, he is linked to an explosion at a nutritional products firm in Pleasanton, California, that took place a month afterward.
While the bombings did not result in any injuries, authorities noted that the device used in the biotechnology company incident was purportedly aimed at causing harm to first responders.
