DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — In an impressive display of skill, Kobe Magee contributed significantly to Drexel’s success, scoring 23 points in their 83-71 victory against Chicago State on Tuesday.
Magee wasn’t just a scorer; he also secured nine rebounds for the Dragons, who now hold a record of 5-3. Yame Butler added to the team’s efforts by shooting 6 of 10 from the floor and sinking 8 out of 11 free throws, resulting in 20 points. Cole Hargrove also played a key role, going 5 for 7 shooting and tallying 10 points.
On the opposing side, Troy McCoy shone for the Cougars, ultimately finishing the game with 19 points and six rebounds. Jalen Forrest supported the team with a solid performance, netting 14 points, while Matthew Robinson contributed 10 points along with two steals.
Drexel built a lead as they headed into halftime with a score of 35-28, bolstered by Jason Drake, who led the team’s first-half scoring with eight points. Magee took charge in the second half, adding 16 points to his tally and helping secure the win.
