CHARLOTTE AMALIE, Virgin Islands — Sincere Parker delivered an impressive performance with 31 points, leading McNeese to a victory over Longwood, finishing 84-69 during the Paradise Jam on Sunday night.
Parker was remarkable on the court, shooting 12 for 17 overall, although he was unable to make any three-point attempts, going 0 for 3 from that range. Additionally, he was flawless at the free-throw line, converting 7 of 7 attempts. The Cowboys improved their record to 4-2 with this win, supported by Joe Charles, who contributed 12 points, making 5 of 8 shots and hitting 2 out of 3 from three-point territory, alongside securing six rebounds. Christian Shumate also made a significant impact, hitting 5 of 7 shots and 2 of 3 from long range to add another 12 points, along with three steals.
Michael Christmas was the top scorer for the Lancers, ending the game with 12 points, while Johan Nziemi added 11 points and Emanuel Richards also scored 11, accompanied by two steals. This defeat halted Longwood’s impressive six-game winning streak.
The turning point came when McNeese took the lead with 7:16 left in the first half and did not relinquish it. At halftime, the score stood at 37-28, with Shumate contributing nine points to the team’s efforts. McNeese maintained a six-point advantage over Longwood in the second half, with Parker dominating on offense, scoring 27 points in that period to help secure the win.
