AKRON, Ohio — In an impressive display of skill, Nate Johnson contributed 25 points to guide the Akron Zips to a 97-78 victory over Alabama State on Sunday.
Johnson also added five rebounds to his performance, solidifying his impact on the game.

Bowen Hardman also played a significant role, scoring 19 points while showcasing a remarkable shooting accuracy of 6 out of 7 from three-point range. Adding to Akron’s offensive efforts, Isaiah Gray scored 11 points, hitting 4 of 7 attempts from the field.

For the Hornets, who now stand at 3-3, CJ Hines emerged as the top scorer with 19 points. His teammates Tyler Mack and Antonio Madlock supported the effort by contributing 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Akron established a commanding presence after seizing the lead with 6:46 remaining in the first half, a lead they maintained throughout the remainder of the game.
