CHARLESTON, S.C. — In a thrilling matchup at the Charleston Classic, Kobe Sanders was the standout performer, scoring 27 points, which included an impressive 5 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final moments of the game. This helped lead Nevada to a 90-78 victory over Oklahoma State, securing a fifth-place finish in the tournament on Sunday.

The Wolf Pack’s only setback in what has been a strong start to the season, with a record of six games, came in the opening round of the tournament where they narrowly lost to Vanderbilt with a score of 73-71. In contrast, Oklahoma State struggled throughout the game and never managed to take the lead. Nevada established control after Justin McBride’s tip-in with just under 13 minutes remaining, taking a slim 14-12 advantage. Tre Coleman further boosted the score by landing two free throws, while Chuck Bailey II also contributed a crucial jumper, giving Nevada a 40-33 edge at halftime.

As the game progressed, Abou Ousmane’s tip-in reduced Oklahoma State’s deficit to five points with 5:21 left on the clock, making it 75-70. However, Brandon Love responded promptly with a three-point play, allowing the Wolf Pack to extend their lead. The final blow came when Tyler Rolison nailed a three-pointer with just 1:38 remaining, increasing Nevada’s advantage to 84-73.

Kobe Sanders excelled with 7 out of 10 shooting from the field and 3 of 5 from three-point range, in addition to going 10 of 13 from the charity stripe. He also added three assists and a steal to his impressive performance. Nick Davidson contributed significantly as well, scoring 23 points with 9 of 16 shooting. Brandon Love was perfect, making all five of his attempts from the floor, resulting in 11 points. Collectively, the Wolf Pack shot an impressive 58.9% from the field (33 of 56), including 7 of 18 from beyond the arc.

On the other side, Oklahoma State’s bench made notable contributions, with Marchelus Avery finishing with 15 points and Arturo Dean adding 13. Both Robert Jennings II and Ousmane chipped in with 11 points apiece.

As they wrap up the month of November, both teams look forward to their upcoming matchups. Nevada will face Washington State at home on December 2, while Oklahoma State is set to visit Tulsa on December 4.
