EDINBURGH, Scotland — Australia’s pursuit of their inaugural rugby Grand Slam in four decades has come to an end.
The Wallabies faced a defeat against Scotland with a score of 27-13 on Sunday, which dashed their aspirations of achieving a series of victories during their season-ending tour of Britain and Ireland.
They managed to secure victories over England and Wales but will conclude their tour with a challenging match against Ireland next week.

The setback was worsened by the injury of Joseph Sua’ali’i, the emerging backline star for the team, who had to leave the field in the first half at Murrayfield after sustaining an injury to his right arm while attempting a tackle on Scotland’s captain, Sione Tuipulotu.

Tuipulotu, who has Australian roots, was one of four players to score tries for Scotland in the match. Meanwhile, Harry Potter, who debuted for the Wallabies and became the subject of light-hearted jests prior to the game due to his name, managed to score a late consolation try for Australia.
