MARTIN, Tenn. — Kinkead Dent delivered a stellar performance with three touchdown passes, including a decisive one-yard throw to Tyler Dostin in overtime, as the UT Martin Skyhawks triumphed over Lindenwood with a final score of 33-26 in their season-ending matchup on Saturday.

The thrilling game-winning pass by Dent materialized after Jaren Van Winkle had missed a long-range 49-yard field goal attempt for the Skyhawks on the last play of regulation. The Skyhawks concluded their season with a respectable 8-4 overall record and a 6-2 standing in the Big South/OVC Association.

For Lindenwood, the Lions, who concluded their season at 5-6 with a 4-4 record, kept things dramatic as Jared Rhodes executed a 13-yard touchdown run. This was followed by Nate Glantz connecting with Jeff Caldwell for a two-point conversion with just 32 seconds remaining, leveling the score at 26 and pushing the game into overtime.

In a crucial moment, JaMichael McGoy Jr. stepped up for UT Martin, intercepting Glantz on a fourth-and-32 play, thus halting the Lions’ offensive attempt during their possession in overtime.

Lindenwood kicked off the scoring with Caldwell completing a 21-yard touchdown run on their first possession, though Logan Seibert failed to convert the extra point. Subsequently, Glantz orchestrated a seven-play, 90-yard drive that culminated in a 2-yard touchdown run, placing the Lions ahead 13-0 early in the second quarter.

Dent quickly answered back with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Trevonte Rucker, narrowing the halftime deficit to six points. The Lions would extend their lead to nine with a 50-yard field goal by Seibert early in the third quarter. However, Dent responded in kind, throwing a 38-yard touchdown pass to Rucker, followed by Patrick Smith’s 22-yard touchdown run, putting the Skyhawks up 20-18 heading into the final quarter.

Dent concluded the game with an impressive 272 yards from 18 completions out of 27 attempts, although he did have one interception. Meanwhile, Glantz ended his performance with 327 passing yards from 27 completions out of 45 attempts, also facing two interceptions, and contributed on the ground with 42 rushing yards on 17 carries.
