MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In a tightly contested game on Saturday, Brandon Gilliam successfully hit field goals from distances of 42, 29, and 30 yards, leading Alabama State to a narrow victory over Prairie View A&M with a final score of 9-6. This win marks the third consecutive winning season for Alabama State under the leadership of coach Eddie Robinson.

The last time the program experienced three back-to-back winning seasons was during the tenure of coach Reggie Barlow, who achieved an impressive five consecutive seasons from 2010 to 2015.

The match saw both teams battling hard, resulting in a combined total of 22 first downs and 428 yards of offense, along with five turnovers that kept the game intense throughout.

Daquon Kincey played a significant role for Alabama State, rushing for a total of 94 yards. Quarterback Kareem Keye had a mixed performance, completing 6 of 14 passes for 71 yards but also throwing an interception.

On the other side, Prairie View’s quarterback Jaden Johnson faced challenges as well; he threw for 122 yards on 13 completions out of 23 attempts, while also getting intercepted. Guillermo Garcia Rodriguez contributed to Prairie View’s scoring with two field goals, one of which was from a remarkable 50 yards.
