VALPARAISO, Ind. — On Thursday night, Cooper Schwieger showcased an impressive performance, scoring 22 points and guiding Valparaiso to a 77-64 victory over Lindenwood.
In addition to his scoring, Schwieger also pulled down 11 rebounds, proving to be a key player for the Beacons, who improved their record to 2-2.
Devon Ellis contributed significantly with 13 points and five rebounds, while Isaiah Shaw added 12 points to the team’s overall effort.
On the opposing side, Markeith Browning II led the Lindenwood Lions with 20 points and two steals, making a solid impact on the game.
Jadis Jones supported with 17 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, while Anias Futrell chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for the Lions, who now stand at 2-4.
Valparaiso took control of the game with 2:40 left in the first half and maintained their advantage throughout the second half.
During the first half, Schwieger was particularly effective, leading his team in scoring with 12 points, which propelled them to a 39-32 lead at halftime.
The combination of strong individual performances and effective team play ultimately led the Beacons to a well-deserved victory.
