STORRS, Conn. — UConn guard Azzi Fudd is set to return to the court, participating in the Huskies’ matchup against Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night.
Fudd experienced a right knee injury during a practice session on November 14, 2023, shortly after appearing in two games last season. She has since rejoined her teammates in practice and engaged in warm-ups ahead of UConn’s recent game against North Carolina last Friday.
The redshirt junior still has two years of eligibility available to her.
This isn’t the first time Fudd has faced a season-ending injury during her time at UConn; she was sidelined for 22 games in her sophomore season in 2022-23 due to a different knee injury and missed 11 games in her freshman year in 2021-22 because of a foot issue.
The upcoming game marks a significant moment for Coach Geno Auriemma, as it offers him the chance to secure sole possession of the NCAA’s all-time wins record, which he currently shares with retired Stanford women’s coach Tara VanDerveer.
