BRYN MAWR, Pa. — In a dominant performance, Villanova triumphed over Pennsylvania with a score of 93-49 on Tuesday night, largely thanks to Eric Dixon’s impressive 23-point contribution.
Dixon not only showcased his scoring abilities but also secured six rebounds for the Wildcats, who improved their record to 3-3. Alongside him, Wooga Poplar made a significant impact with 19 points, hitting 6 of his 11 attempts from the floor and an impressive 5 of 8 from three-point territory. Additionally, Jhamir Brickus showcased his shooting skills by finishing with 16 points after going 6 of 8 overall, including a perfect 4 for 4 from beyond the arc.
On the other side, the Quakers struggled to keep pace, with Michael Zanoni leading their scoring efforts with just nine points. Dixon set the tone early by posting 11 points in the first half, helping Villanova take a commanding 43-26 lead as they headed into halftime. The Wildcats continued to dominate in the second half, extending their advantage to 56-29, aided by an impressive 11-0 run.
In the latter part of the game, Dixon again stood out by adding another 12 points, cementing his role as the key player in the Wildcats’ victory.
