LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Tech Red Raiders showcased a dominant performance on Monday night, securing a decisive 98-64 victory against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Darrion Williams led the charge with 19 points, highlighting a strong offensive effort against the Golden Lions.

Williams was effective, converting 8 of his 11 attempts from the field, including two successful three-point shots. In addition to his scoring, he contributed four rebounds and four assists for Texas Tech, now boasting a record of 4-0 this season. Elijah Hawkins and JT Toppin also made significant contributions, both achieving double-doubles, with Hawkins tallying 10 points and 11 assists, while Toppin contributed 14 points alongside 11 rebounds.

From the bench, Kevin Overton had an impressive outing, nailing three three-pointers to finish with 17 points. Chance McMillian added 11 points combined with six assists, and reserve player Devan Cambridge scored 10 points to aid in the team’s victory.

For the Golden Lions, Christian Moore was the standout player, scoring 21 points in the match. He made an efficient 9 of 15 shots, including two from beyond the arc, and also dished out five assists. Dante Sawyer provided 13 points off the bench with a shooting performance of 5-for-10.

By halftime, Texas Tech had established a healthy lead, ahead 47-28. Williams had already netted 14 points, while Toppin supported the effort with eight points and seven rebounds. For Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Sawyer was the top scorer in the first half with nine points. The Red Raiders shot a solid 52.9% from the field in the opening half, including six three-pointers, while the Golden Lions finished the half shooting 52.2% but took 20 fewer shots and struggled from three-point range, making only 1 of 7.

In the second half, the Red Raiders continued to extend their lead, with Kerwin Walton hitting a three-pointer with 7:15 remaining, marking the team’s largest advantage at 88-46.

Looking ahead, Texas Tech is set to face Saint Joseph’s in the UKG Legends Classic this Thursday.
