SAN JOSE, Calif. — In an exciting matchup on Sunday, UC Santa Barbara emerged victorious against San Jose State with a score of 64-59, thanks to the outstanding performance by Cole Anderson, who contributed 18 points to the Gauchos’ success.
Anderson demonstrated remarkable shooting skills, finishing the game with a shooting percentage of 67%, making 6 of his 9 attempts. His proficiency from long range was particularly impressive, as he drained 6 of 8 three-pointers. Not far behind, Stephan D. Swenson added 15 points to the team’s total while shooting 54% from the field, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Jason Fontenet II also chipped in, scoring 12 points during the game.
On the other hand, the Spartans, who fell to a 1-4 record, saw Josh Uduje lead the way with a notable performance, scoring 22 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Will McClendon supported the effort with 12 points and contributed defensively with two steals.
