STANFORD, Calif. — In a brilliant display of talent, Maxime Raynaud achieved his fourth consecutive double-double, scoring a personal best of 33 points while also grabbing 14 rebounds. This performance helped Stanford secure their fourth home victory in a row, defeating UC Davis with a score of 79-65 on Sunday afternoon.
The towering seven-footer from Paris had an impressive start, sinking three 3-pointers in the first half. His skill on the court was further highlighted by a tip-in just before the halftime buzzer, extending his team’s lead to 41-23 as they headed into the locker room. Raynaud also surpassed the 1,000 career points milestone with a 3-pointer in the second half.
Raynaud’s shooting was notable, as he connected on 13 of his 26 field goal attempts, including 5 out of 10 from beyond the arc. Jaylen Blakes contributed significantly to the win, scoring 17 points alongside four assists and two steals. Overall, the Cardinal’s shooting performance reflected a percentage of 37.3% from the field, making 25 of 67 attempts, though they struggled with 3 out of 18 shooting from three-point range by players other than Raynaud.
On the opposing side, Ty Johnson led UC Davis with a strong performance, scoring 29 points. He was supported by Pablo Tamba, who added 13 points and five rebounds, and Leo DeBruhl, contributing 11 points along with six assists.
Stanford’s victory brings their record to 4-0 this season under the guidance of first-year head coach Kyle Smith, who previously coached at Washington State and was awarded the 2024 John R. Wooden Pac-12 Coach of the Year.
