BAKERSFIELD, California — On Saturday, Cal State Bakersfield showcased a strong performance against Fresno State, securing a solid victory with a score of 74-56.

Corey Stephenson was instrumental in the win, contributing 17 points along with nine rebounds for the Roadrunners, who improved their record to 3-1.

Jemel Jones was also a key player, scoring 13 points while making 6 of his 11 attempts, although he struggled from the 3-point line and the free-throw line.

Additionally, Marvin McGhee added nine points to the scoreboard, hitting two of his four shots from beyond the arc.

On the opposing side, the Bulldogs, now 1-2, saw Zaon Collins lead their scoring efforts with 12 points.

Elijah Price performed well, recording 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and three blocks. Amar Augillard contributed with eight points.

Cal State Bakersfield held a narrow lead at halftime, ahead of Fresno State 38-33, with Stephenson being the team’s top scorer in the first half, netting 10 points.

The Roadrunners intensified their game after the break, executing a decisive 16-2 run that stretched their lead from nine points to 23.

They ultimately outscored the Bulldogs by 13 points in the second half, with Jones stepping up to lead the Roadrunners with 11 second-half points.
