TOWSON, Md. — In a competitive showdown, Dylan Williamson led the way for Towson with 22 points as they secured a 67-63 victory over James Madison on Saturday evening.

Williamson also contributed five rebounds to the Tigers’ effort, helping them improve their record to 2-2. Teammate Messiah Jones chipped in with nine points, going 3 of 7 from the field, alongside five rebounds. Nendah Tarke also scored nine points to bolster the team.

On the opposing side, Mark Freeman was the standout for the Dukes, scoring 20 points and providing four assists. Xavier Brown followed closely with 16 points and another four assists, while Elijah Hutchins-Everett made his mark defensively, recording 10 points and four blocks.

Williamson’s impact was felt throughout the game, as he netted 10 points during the first half. At that point, Towson found themselves trailing 36-31 at halftime. However, the team surged during the second half with a pivotal 9-0 run that turned around a five-point deficit, allowing them to take control of the game with a 40-36 lead just over four minutes into the half. Williamson would go on to score 12 points in the second half, further solidifying the Tigers’ victory.
