HOUSTON — In a Saturday night matchup, Elijah Brooks emerged as a key player for Houston Christian, leading the way with 21 points in their victory over Rockford, with a final score of 84-64.

Brooks also contributed six rebounds to help his team secure the win, moving their record to 2-2. Teammate Bryson Dawkins had a solid performance as well, scoring 18 points while achieving an impressive shooting percentage of 58.3%, making 7 of his 12 attempts. Dawkins was also active on the boards with five rebounds to his name, despite hitting only 2 out of 5 free throws. Additionally, Peyton Rogers showcased his shooting skills, going 4 for 5 from the field, including an accurate 3 for 3 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points, along with three steals.

For Rockford, Micah Swanson stood out with a commendable performance, netting 20 points along with six rebounds. Cooper Jackson and Noody Lacey both contributed to the scoring with 12 points each, but the team ultimately fell short against the Huskies.
