EASTON, Pa. — In a convincing performance, Jamar Curtis excelled for Lafayette, scoring two rushing touchdowns and catching a pass for another as the Leopards secured a dominant 42-10 victory over Stonehill in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.

The Leopards amassed a total of 484 yards in offense, which marked Stonehill’s seventh consecutive loss.

Lafayette’s defense set the tone early by intercepting Drew Easton’s pass at midfield on the Skyhawks’ first possession. Quarterback Dean DeNobile quickly found Curtis for a 13-yard pass out of the backfield, followed by Curtis sprinting 28 yards for the opening touchdown just two plays later.

After forcing Stonehill to punt, Lafayette marched down the field, covering 69 yards in nine plays for their second touchdown. DeNobile connected with Elijah Steward for a notable 38-yard gain, propelling the Leopards to the Skyhawks’ 20-yard line. Running back Troy Bruce then carried the ball three times consecutively, completing the drive with a four-yard touchdown dive.

Stonehill’s troubles continued when Easton threw his second interception on the first play of their next drive, handing DeNobile another scoring opportunity. He seized the moment by delivering a 27-yard touchdown pass to Curtis, elevating Lafayette to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

With their strong defensive effort, Lafayette (6-5, 2-3 Patriot) held Stonehill (1-9, 0-5 NEC) to merely 145 yards through the air, resulting from Easton’s 10 completions on 21 attempts, including three interceptions. The ground game for Stonehill struggled as well, managing only 113 yards over 35 attempts.

DeNobile concluded the game with impressive stats, completing 18 of 24 passes for 275 yards, accompanied by one touchdown and one interception. Curtis added eight carries for 51 yards alongside his pair of rushing touchdowns, along with two receptions that totaled 40 yards and a receiving touchdown. Meanwhile, Bruce contributed significantly with nine carries for 40 yards and two touchdowns of his own.
