NORFOLK, Va. — In a strong display of offensive power, Jalen Daniels led Norfolk State to a 38-19 victory over Delaware State on Saturday, showcasing his versatility with two touchdown passes and one touchdown run. Kevon King also contributed significantly by scoring two rushing touchdowns, further underscoring the team’s efficient attack.

The game took a pivotal turn right before halftime when Grandin Willcox kicked a 48-yard field goal, narrowing the score to 13-10. Following the break, Daniels took control of the game, throwing for two touchdowns and executing a powerful 1-yard rushing touchdown, which helped elevate the Spartans to a commanding 31-13 advantage by the end of the third quarter.

Daniels’ initial touchdown pass was a 24-yard connection with Kam’Ryn Thomas, which completed a quick two-play drive covering 32 yards. This opportunity arose after Jaden Sutton, running back for Delaware State, lost possession deep in his own territory. The turnover continued with quarterback Jaden Stewart giving away the ball on the next series for the Hornets, allowing Daniels to score with a short run. After a quick three-and-out for Delaware State, Daniels orchestrated a successful 59-yard drive that resulted in a 4-yard touchdown pass to Gregory Perkins.

For the game, Daniels completed 13 of his 21 pass attempts, accumulating a total of 155 yards. On the other side of the field, Jaden Sutton stood out for Delaware State, rushing for 146 yards along with one touchdown despite the team’s overall struggles. With a disheartening record of 1-10 and a nine-game losing streak, Delaware State is looking to redeem themselves in their final matchup against North Carolina Central to wrap up their season.
