TOWSON, Md. — In a decisive matchup on Saturday, Sean Brown led Towson to a commanding 31-13 victory against North Carolina A&T. Brown finished the game with 251 passing yards and contributed one touchdown to his team’s total.
The Tigers (6-5, 4-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association) executed a strong performance throughout most of the game, only to allow the Aggies (1-10, 0-7) to score twice in the fourth quarter on drives that totaled 139 yards.
Brown quickly got the Tigers on the scoreboard with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Devin Matthews just two minutes into the game. Later in the second quarter, Matthews extended the lead with a 7-yard rushing touchdown, which allowed Towson to head into halftime with a 17-0 advantage.
Towson’s offense was prolific, amassing 338 total yards, highlighted by short touchdown runs from Tyrell Grene Jr. and Ike Daniels. Brown’s efficiency was apparent as he completed 23 out of 35 passes for his 251 yards.
On the other side, Justin Fomby managed to throw for 176 yards and connected on two late touchdown passes for the Aggies, who ended the game with a total of 289 yards.
Overall, Towson’s well-rounded attack and strong defense paved the way for their victory, showcasing their ability to dominate for much of the contest. The performance sets a solid tone for the Tigers as they continue their campaign in the Coastal Athletic Association.
