LOS ANGELES — Eric Dailey Jr. contributed significantly to UCLA’s commanding 85-45 victory over Lehigh, recording 17 points and securing 10 rebounds. Teammate Aday Mara also made an impact off the bench, adding 16 points to the scoreline.
Other notable performances included Tyler Bilodeau, who scored 15 points, while reserve player Sebastian Mack chipped in with 10 points for the Bruins, who now hold a record of 3-1 this season.
For the Mountain Hawks, Keith Higgins Jr. was the standout performer, leading his team with 18 points, and Tyler Whitney-Sidney supported with 10 points of his own, despite the team’s ongoing struggles this season, dropping to 0-4.
The game began with UCLA establishing an early 15-5 lead; however, Lehigh responded with an 8-0 run, narrowing the score to 15-13, highlighted by a three-pointer from Higgins followed by a pivotal three-point play. Unfortunately for Lehigh, their offense stalled after that, and besides three free throws from Higgins, they couldn’t convert any field goals, enabling UCLA to extend their lead to 44-16 by halftime.
Previously this season, the Bruins had secured an impressive 85-50 win over Rider and a 71-40 triumph against Boston University. In their only loss, New Mexico narrowly defeated UCLA 72-64.
This matchup marked the first-ever encounter between UCLA and Lehigh, showcasing the dominance of the Bruins on the court.
