CHICAGO – DePaul University secured a convincing victory over Duquesne, winning 84-58, with Isaiah Rivera leading the charge by contributing 18 points.
Rivera demonstrated impressive shooting skills, going 7-for-9 overall, and making 4 out of 6 attempts from beyond the arc for the Blue Demons, who are now enjoying a perfect start to their season with a record of 4-0. David Skogman also made a significant impact by scoring 16 points and pulling down nine rebounds, while Jacob Meyer added 13 points, converting 5 of 10 shot attempts, including 3 out of 5 from three-point territory.
On the other hand, the Dukes, who are still searching for their first win of the season at 0-3, were led in scoring by Maximus Edwards, who tallied 13 points. Jake DiMichele provided additional support with 11 points.
At halftime, the score stood at 37-31, with Rivera contributing eight points to the Blue Demons’ effort. The second half saw DePaul assert their dominance by launching a 7-0 run, which allowed them to widen their lead from 11 to 18 points. Meyer was particularly effective in the latter half, scoring a team-high 13 points.
